Members representing Media-Society are expected to act professionally and responsibly.

Accuracy

Contributors should make reasonable efforts to verify information before publication.

Attribution

Sources and creators should be appropriately credited.

Corrections

Significant factual errors should be corrected transparently.

Independence

Editorial work should not be presented as independent reporting when it has been commissioned or controlled by an interested party without appropriate disclosure.

Distinction between news and opinion

Readers should be able to distinguish reporting, analysis, opinion and sponsored material.

Respect for rights

Members must not knowingly misappropriate the writing, photography, video or creative work of others.

Professional identification

Media-Society credentials must be used only by the person to whom they are issued.

No misrepresentation

Members must not imply that a Media-Society credential provides governmental authority or guarantees access.

AI transparency

Material substantially generated or altered through artificial intelligence should be labelled when necessary to avoid misleading audiences about its origin or documentary authenticity.

Professional conduct

Credentials or assignments may be suspended where a member seriously misrepresents their affiliation or abuses Media-Society documentation.
